If you have been referred to your surgeon with a concerning lesion of the head, face, mouth or neck, a procedure can be arranged, commonly in the office setting, to provide a diagnosis for the lesion and help to put your mind at ease. Depending upon the area of concern, your surgeon will help you decide if your procedure can be completed under local anesthesia (numbing medication) or if you would benefit from being asleep for your procedure.
