Sleep disordered breathing in infants and children can result in poor sleep patterns, suboptimal feeding and decreased weight gain (failure to thrive). Your pediatric craniofacial surgeon will work in conjunction with an ENT (ears, nose and throat) specialist and pulmonologist in order to best assess and treat your child’s breathing condition. Your surgeon will help you decide if a “sleep study” and/or CT scan are appropriate in guiding your child’s care.
